About the Job
Our client, an importer located in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper & Office Coordinator. This is a long-term opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to support both accounting operations and general office administration in a dynamic, growing business.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, resourceful, and looking to grow their responsibilities over time within a finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Record cash receipts, accounts payable, and intercompany transactions 
  • Perform daily cash tracking and bank reconciliations 
  • Assist with accounts payable processing, including check, wire, and ACH payments 
  • Support accounts receivable tracking A/R reporting 
  • Assist with monthly invoices 
  • Coordination of time and expense inputs 
  • Preparing Cargo Insurance claims
Administrative & Office Support

  • Provide general office management and organizational support 
  • Maintain filing systems
  • Order office supplies and other business needs 
  • Support preparation of reports
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel required; Word helpful) 
  • Experience with accounting systems (ERP experience a plus) 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
